Swim Instructor

Lowell School in Washington, DC, is seeking certified swim instructors for our Aquatics program, serving students ages PK-8; this will be an immediate hire.

We offer:
  • Water Safety Instructor training (WSI)
  • Lifeguarding, CPR, AED, and FirstAid training/certification
  • Certified Pool Operator training/certification

Shifts require day, evening, and/or weekend availability:
  • Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Monday - Friday from 3:30 - 7:00 PM
  • Saturday from 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Qualifications:
  • Previous swim instruction experience is required
  • Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification preferred
  • Current Lifeguarding/First Aid and CPR-AED certifications are required
  • Demonstrated experience working with children
  • Excellent character, integrity, and adaptability
  • Ability to communicate and work with a variety of ages and skill levels
  • Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds in weight
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Physical Requirements:
  • Must possess or be able to obtain certification in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid (American Red Cross preferred).  
  • Swimming skills are necessary and must be effectively demonstrated prior to employment. 
  • Must be able to swim 200 yards 
  • Must be able to communicate with students in a pool environment.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds.

Expected Salary Range:  $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
