Summer Camp Theatre Director

Lowell School in Washington, DC, is seeking an energetic person for our Summer program (Summer Stage - Gotta Have Glee); this will be an immediate hire. Seeking a theatre director to help create and direct two fully staged shows for 3rd-9th graders this summer. This is an 8-week position.

Experience and interest in theatre and inprov for kids and teens is important.

Qualifications:

Demonstrated teaching and classroom experience
Loves kids
Ability to teach and lead various literacy and math exercises
Excellent character, integrity and adaptability
Ability to communicate and work with a variety of age and skill levels
The desire and ability to work in a cooperative, team-oriented atmosphere
Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-control
Completed at least one year of classroom teaching, at least 18 years of age, or successful employment

Dates: June 16 - August 8 (Weekdays only)
Hours: 2 shifts: Weekdays 8:00 AM - 12 PM, OR Weekdays 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Location: Upper NW DC near Rock Creek Park and Downtown Silver Spring (public transportation accessible)
